Frameworks & Quality Services
What the Institution provides
Three programmes carry our public mandate: the standards we write, the enterprises we equip, and the citizens we inform.

Standardization & Safety Codes
Technical guidelines written by committee and published openly, protecting consumers while giving local producers a clear, achievable target for compliance.
What this includes
- Committee-drafted specifications for food, construction materials, textiles and packaged goods
- Sampling and inspection protocols for district markets and cooperative stores
- Public comment periods with a published response register for every draft
- Open access: published guidance is free to read, cite and apply

Training & Enterprise Empowerment
Capacity-building for small and medium enterprises — documentation systems, hygiene practice, measurement discipline and audit readiness — delivered in-district and in Sesotho.
What this includes
- In-district workshops delivered in Sesotho and English
- Documentation systems: batch records, cleaning logs, traceability
- Measurement discipline and instrument calibration practice
- Audit-readiness clinics ahead of buyer or regulator inspection

Consumer Rights & Advocacy
Public education campaigns on product safety, labelling literacy, fair measurement and the routes available to citizens when a product causes harm.
What this includes
- Consumer awareness days with calibrated scales at district markets
- Sesotho-language labelling and product safety material for households
- A public complaints desk with confidential handling of every report
- School and community sessions on fair measure and pricing
